Happy New years everyone! The year 2026, which is a big one of us as in June we turn 10 years old!
Cannot wait for all the games to come out and we have a great start to the year with the Terraria update,
Echoes of Elysium on the horizon, and Hytale
landing in a few weeks. Dedicated servers for
Dragonwilds are coming soon too,
which our team is extremely hyped for, what an amazing game. This is already shaping up to be a busy year.
2025 was quite a decent year, with a fair few new games coming out for Game Server Hosting and oh so many updates.
Highlights on the hosting side of things are
Return to Moria
(including the Durin's Folk expansion),
Nightingale,
VEIN,
ARK: Aquatica,
Abiotic Factor,
7 Days to Die 2.0,
Project Zomboid B42 multiplayer,
Enshrouded,
Palworld,
ASKA, and
Astroneer.
If you missed any of those updates, why not grab a game server right now and jump in?!
The biggest thing we did last year was move from our old LA datacenter in downtown to the new one in Burbank.
We are extremely pleased with this new location, loads of expansion space for new cabs and power, fibre lines
going to the internet have low latency, we're excited to grow in LA and continue to provide excellent service.
Shortly after migrating our LA Datacenter, we headed over to Germany to migrate our Frankfurt one. With growing
power costs in Germany, we had to make the decision to move to a new datacenter with better power costs,
and we are thrilled with the new location. A short 5-minute drive from the old one, with a better ISP
and peering connections, we could not have asked for a better spot to move to.
We also upgraded a significant number of locations to deploy new services onto AMD Ryzens, with Singapore now
100% on 7950X processors and new 7950X nodes in New York and London too. These are running alongside lots of
locations now using the 5950X processors, we are curious about the 9950X and new Epyc ones but let's see.
Plenty more to be upgraded this year.
We are switching over to our Ptero control panel and should be fully migrated by the end of January (hopefully).
It is a big upgrade over Multicraft, with a faster interface, better automation, proper scheduling and backups,
and far more flexibility for us to build new tools. We'll have a blog soon outlining all the features.
Our own custom panel that we started in 2024 is still being developed, but it is a while away yet;
we think migrating to our Ptero fork is the best interim step. We have made good progress on the panel, and if
you are in our discord server, there have been posts about this and what it looks like. More info later this year.
From all of us here, we hope you have a fantastic year, and we are looking forward to seeing what happens.
