What is Durin's Folk?
The tale moves on from the Dimrill Gate and into the long work of restoration. As Lord of Moria your job is to bring Durin's people home, light the forges, and turn empty halls back into a living city. Durin's Folk introduces recruitable NPCs who lend real weight to that goal. Put miners on rich seams, post guards on the walls, and keep crafters busy while you range further for the good stuff. Trading arrives too, letting you swap Moria's treasures for supplies from beyond the Misty Mountains, so the settlement grows in more than one way.
Expeditions are the spine of the expansion. Pick a target, kit up, and push into new ground both inside and outside the mountain. Fresh routes, points of interest, and hazards keep the runs sharp, and there is always a reason to head back out once the stores are full and the anvils are ringing. Every successful trip feeds the rebuild with better tools, sturdier defences, and improved gear for the next push. Worlds remain procedural, danger still rises with depth, and noise still carries in the dark, yet momentum builds fast when the company pulls together.
You can play at your pace. Solo runs work well when you want a quiet sweep for ore or a careful scout of a new approach. Group play turns the place into a proper worksite with roles, supply lines, and a plan for the evening. Either way the loop is simple and satisfying: explore, return, upgrade, and set off again.
