The highly anticipated game StarRupture has just released, a factory game inspired by similar ones in the genre while still maintaining its own style and unique take. Let’s dive in and see what the game has to offer on a day 1 early access patch.
While it does share similarities with games like Factorio and Satisfactory, the similarities are merely small nods. The enemy faction - unofficially named Vermin - bears a striking similarity to the Factorio biters, and is based in a 3D environment with exploration elements like Satisfactory. Beyond that, everything is original in this world.

One of the primary selling points of this game over others is the emphasis on the enemy alien faction. These guys will be a real threat and a core of the game, featuring many different types of them. From armoured to explosive, these guys come in many different deadly forms that will challenge your defensive abilities as a factory manager. You may even find yourself faced with alien creatures that you weren’t expecting.

The game takes a different approach to the genre, completely doing away with power poles. Power is transferred through foundations and conveyor belts, meaning you won’t have to factor those annoying poles into your builds anymore! The building feels a little clunky for now, but will surely improve with future patches and updates.

One big difference about this game is the emphasis on exploring, requiring you to explore to progress at some points rather than it being an optional bonus. You’ll have to dive into the heart of the Vermin, explore ancient ruins, and maybe even some fallen ally ships. These will be crucial to your progress in research and creation of new buildings as a whole.
