Minecraft: Chocolate Edition - An Overview and Review

Minecraft Chocolate Edition overview

Just shy of one million downloads, Chocolate Edition has made quite the splash since its initial release. The pack focuses on a more adventure-like playstyle, the pack description itself claiming it ‘is Minecraft if it had Terraria devs'. Having quite a large spread of mods, some of the key ones you'll likely be using regularly is Tetra, Create, and Tom's Simple Storage. The modpack features Better Combat, a mod that rebalances combat and adds cool animations to every single attack, even going as far to add dual wielding weaponry.

Being an adventure-focused pack on a modernised version of Minecraft, the pack obviously has End Remastered, a mod that requires you to get 12 distinct Eyes of Ender to enter the End. In this pack, they are all obtained by crafting them, with most of them having lengthy crafting trees. The pack is unique in that select things are locked behind various eyes and cannot be obtained until a certain number of eyes have been obtained. This allows the modpack author to gate certain things behind a degree of assumed progression, making for a more stable and thorough flow of the pack altogether.

While not being a tech modpack, the pack still features Create, with a few of its addons to go along with it. This pack has a heavy focus on food, giving powerful buffs depending on the variety of food you eat. This incentivises making a large variety of foods to eat, but does not force the player to interact with it. These buffs are not required but significantly help with the many extremely tough bosses of the pack, some of the strongest ones being added by Born in Chaos and Cataclysm.

This modpack features a shop system, the currency being rare gemstones found deep underground. In the shop, you can buy a large variety of different items, most of which are cosmetic. It will also allow you to purchase rare items only acquired from the various different challenge contracts featured in the quest book. Some of the challenges featured are quite challenging and will give difficulty to the most seasoned modded veterans.

We recommend you give this pack a try if you love more RPG, boss-rush styled modpacks. We offer this modpack through our one-click installation panel, though we do recommend you at least have a Lapis plan if you wish to give it a try! Head to our Minecraft Server Hosting page to view plans and rent a Minecraft server!

Our service is straightforward, and it only takes a few clicks once your server is purchased to get your server up and running! If you don't like some mods or settings, you have full control over changing or removing them as you please, or even changing the modpack after purchase!
