The long-awaited release of Abiotic Factor is here! After about a year of development, the wait was worth it as the final sector of the game, along with some new Portal Worlds and quality of life features, have surely made this the best update yet. 1.0 spoilers ahead, you have been warned!
The final sector, Residences, is a snowy wasteland that requires the power of the Sun Disk to navigate. After battling your way through the Praetorium, you'll be given the gift of its power to finally put an end to GATE's madness. With power boosts to some of your favourite weapon and armour sets from the new Enhancement Bench, you'll be able to take them through Residences just fine! From the starter Makeshift Armor to even the Crystalline set, most sets are upgradeable by even multiple tiers!
After giving the entire game a full sweep, adding quality of life and bug fixes from the previous versions, it's absolutely worth playing from the start. Adding a wide variety of new wandering traders with ways to ensure their presence around your base, it opens up new options for resource gathering and replication. We highly recommend starting a new playthrough for this update!
So long as the admin of the server owns the Supporter DLC, all players can take advantage of the new, Japanese homeworld named Torii! Being a peaceful haven near the Offices, only requiring a Class 1 Keypad, this place is absolutely intended to be a base location. Having unique furniture, no base attacks (aside from those portal storms, you'll still need the Crafting bench upgrade!) and even a secret hidden beneath the shrine! This is undoubtedly one of the best places to set up shop for the entire playthrough.
The chilling final encounter with the crazy cast of characters we've met over our time in GATE concludes with an epic final boss encounter, requiring loads of firepower! Our recommendation is to upgrade IS-0099, giving it a chance to instant kill anything shot by it. Yes, that does include the final boss as of writing.
